Kia has updated Carnival in India. Prices for the 2021 model start at ₹24.95 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The premium MPV also gets a new top-end Limousine Plus variant priced at ₹33.99 lakh.
On the outside, the 2021 Carnival sports Kia’s new logo, and all variants of the MPV now also come with 18-inch cut-crystal alloy wheels.
The new Limousine Plus variant comes with features such as an eight-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system, electronic parking brake, 10-way power driver’s seat with seat ventilation, steering wheel and leather-wrapped shifter, two 10.1-inch rear-seat entertainment screens and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Kia has overhauled the second Limousine variant starting from the top with a single 10.1-inch rear-seat entertainment screen and an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror. Notably, the outgoing Limousine variant came with dual rear screens, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a power-ventilated driver’s seat, all now reserved for the top-of-the-line Limousine Plus variant. .
Additionally, premium leatherette seats are now available on the Prestige, Limousine and Limousine Plus trims, the latter two getting second-row captain’s chairs with an extendable legrest.
Other than that, the top-of-the-line Kia Carnival continues to feature LED projector headlights, LED fog lights, power tailgate, dual-glazed sunroof, power sliding doors, tri-zone automatic climate control, 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility and cruise control. Carnival’s standard safety equipment includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, rear parking sensors and a rear camera.
The Kia Carnival continues to be powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine developing 200 hp. Power is sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Carnival has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 13.9 kpl.
