Bentley is offering customers one last opportunity to purchase a piece of motoring history – one of the British brand’s most unique and distinguished models, the Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner. Five examples of this rare and modern car, specially designed for customers seeking the very best in luxury limousine transportation, have recently become available for purchase. These five cars were all hand-built by Mulliner in 2015 and shipped to their destination in the United Arab Emirates – but never used or registered.

Designed and built entirely by hand, the Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner features a 1000mm body stretch, as well as a raised roof to provide an additional 79mm of headroom in the rear, to create an unparalleled passenger experience.

Originally set up as a private commission, Bentley Mulliner was later licensed to build a limited run of cars for like-minded customers. Five of these have recently become available for purchase through Bentley’s UAE retail partner, Bentley Emirates, with worldwide delivery available as needed.

The Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner is the ultimate demonstration of the extraordinary skills and capabilities of Bentley’s in-house bespoke division. As production of the Mulsanne ceased last year, these models represent a unique opportunity for customers to acquire an iconic piece of modern Bentley history.

The cars available for sale each have their own unique identities and specifications, something for everyone:

  • Silver Frost exterior paint over Moroccan Blue, paired with Imperial Blue and Linen interior complemented by Burr Walnut veneer
  • Damson paint over Black Crystal, complemented by Damson and Twine leathers and Dark Stained Burr Walnut veneer
  • Onyx exterior over Candy Red, with Hotspur and Camel interior finished with Olive Ash veneer
  • Rubino Red over Light Gazelle bodywork, with Fireglow and Twine leather interior combined with Burr Walnut veneer
  • A solid black sapphire exterior, with an imperial blue and camel interior contrasted by a dark stained burl walnut veneer

A cabin like no other

Mulliner’s Mulsanne Grand Limousine was designed around the need for four passenger seats of equal comfort. Their layout, inspired by luxury private aviation, includes two rear-facing seats, allowing passengers to talk to each other face to face.

Underlining the truly luxurious travel experience, a bottle cooler with crystal fluting sits between the forward-facing seats, with a drinks cabinet with bespoke crystal tumblers between the aft-facing seats. Plated and foldable picnic tables allow occupants to work comfortably on the go, with iPad docking and charging stations. Bentley’s craftsmanship is also evidenced by the three hand-crafted dials, which display UK and local time, as well as the outside temperature.

The finest materials have been applied throughout, using Bentley’s world renowned skills in leather and wood, the taller roof and extra length providing a real feeling of space to relax. The Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner is truly the ultimate space for working or relaxing on the go.

Bespoke technology by Bentley Mulliner

A custom heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system was designed and built by Bentley Mulliner specifically for the Mulsanne Grand Limousine. With two discreet zones, it allows each of the four rear passengers to control their own microclimates, without affecting the experience of their traveling companions.

Among many additional bespoke digital features, the limousines are equipped with an intercom system for communication with the driver. The interior division between the front and rear seats features electrochromic “smart glass”, the first time this technology has been implemented in a Bentley. With the push of a button, the entire panel can be changed from transparent to opaque, for complete privacy.

As elegant as it is spacious

The stretched model rides on a chassis and suspension specially redesigned by Bentley. Power is provided by Bentley’s iconic 6¾-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, with 505 PS (512 hp) and 1,020 Nm (752 lb.ft) of torque. The unique 21-inch rims have been treated to match the car’s exterior paint, while even its stainless steel Flying ‘B’ bonnet mascot is a bespoke order: its plinth is engraved with the words: ‘Coachbuilt by Mulliner ‘.

Perhaps most notable of all is the sleek profile of the car itself. Unlike traditional ‘stretched’ limos, it has been carefully crafted to preserve the effortless lines and aesthetic purity of the Mulsanne. The result is the longest factory-built limousine in the world, its shape adapting beautifully to the length of its wheelbase.

Bentley Mulliner – Rare by Design

Bentley Mulliner exists to meet the demands of Bentley’s most demanding customers. From requests as simple as monogrammed upholstery to elaborate bespoke body modifications, Mulliner’s highly skilled and dedicated craftsmen deliver luxury and rarity on a different scale.

Mulliner recently celebrated its 1000and bespoke commission since establishing its own dedicated design team in 2014, when the growing demand for bespoke and personalized vehicles was recognised.
